Fairhaven and Prairie Village residents were recently given the opportunity to contribute to the UW-Whitewater Campus Food Pantry in a mid-September Food Drive sponsored by the Fairhaven Resident Council. Following a presentation by Kristine Zaballos and Wes Enterline from the Food Pantry, residents were provided with a list of preferred food and personal care items and information about how to make donations. Over a two week period, residents contributed 140 pounds of donated items and $1240 in financial support. Special thanks goes to Fabiola Aranda for all her help with communications at the Food Pantry. For more on the Campus Food Pantry, visit facebook.com/UWWCampusFoodPantry.

The Resident Council, composed of nine residents of Fairhaven and Prairie Village, sponsored this Drive as a way of showing support to the University. The relationship between Fairhaven and UWW is based on mutual respect and regularly sharing activities and resources. Supporting the Food Pantry was a way the Resident Council believes residents could show support to those utilizing the Food Pantry and thank the University for all it does to help “Add Years to Life” at Fairhaven and Prairie Village.
