Whitewater Community Foundation Announces Community Action Grant Fall Cycle

2018 marks the 3 rd year that the Whitewater Community Foundation has awarded grants to nonprofits that serve Whitewater area residents. The Foundation’s mission is to collaborate with our civic partners to create opportunities for youth and adults to achieve their educational and economic dreams, to create a vibrant city for the arts, and to celebrate and preserve the qualities that make Whitewater exceptional.

Grants in 2017/2018 were awarded to programs such as Bethel House, Rock River Free Clinic, Whitewater Dementia Friendly Community Initiative, Wisconsin Makers and others. The Foundation was proud to support the Ferradermis Robotics Team at the High School with a grant that helped enable them to build their robot and travel across the state and country to complete.

An additional grant was awarded which would enable these students to assist in establishing the FIRST Lego Team at Lakeview Elementary School and at Lincoln Elementary School, along with providing inspiration and mentoring to these younger students.

Please spread the word to groups trying to effect positive change in the Whitewater area. We look forward to working with leaders who are striving one goal at a time to make our community a greater place to live, work, and learn.

Interested organizations can find more information at http://www.whitewatercommunityfoundation.org/grants/

The deadline for submitting applications is October 31, 2018.
