Students from the University of Wisconsin-Whitewater’s Habitat for Humanity Chapter presented information about their work to the Kiwanis Whitewater Breakfast Club on Tuesday, and they received a $300 donation from the club as well as a donation of $200 from Kiwanis Member Kathy Schumacher.
Approximately 40 UW-W students are planning to use their Spring Break week to travel to North Carolina and help build homes for people in need.  Their local chapter raises funds from the community, and individual members pay their own way.  One way they raise money is through the Hire-A-Habitator program.  Students will do a variety of work for people in our community, including yard work, and ask for donations for the UW-W Habitat for Humanity in return.  Anyone interested in receiving help from the students can contact hfh@uww.edu.
