Prolonged Heat Wave Begins on Monday

Per the National Weather Service Milwaukee/Sullivan Weather Forecast Office, the following extreme heat index measurements are anticipated beginning on Monday.

  • Hot and humid conditions will build into southern Wisconsin on Monday, with Heat Advisory level conditions (100 degrees Fahrenheit or higher heat index values) looking likely Monday and Tuesday.
  • There is more uncertainty for reaching these conditions Wednesday into Thursday of next week, with possible clouds and periodic chances for showers and thunderstorms.
  • Regardless of exact daytime heat index values, overnight heat index values will remain at or above 75 degrees, leading to very little reprieve from the heat.
  • Heat-related impacts are likely.
  • Hot and humid conditions may linger into the Independence Day holiday weekend.
