WHS Gymnastics celebrated parent’s night on Monday, February 11th at a home dual against Waterford. The WHS gymnastics team scored a 121. The highlights in this meet included senior Autumn Lesar placing 3rd in the Balance Beam scoring a season high of 8.325 and placing 3rd in the All-Around scoring a 31.05. Senior Nicole Tomomitsu placed third in the Uneven Bars scoring a 7.4.
On Friday, February 15th the WHS gymnast were in action at their Conference Tournament at Jefferson High School. The Whippets competed against BUW, Elkhorn, Waterford, and Jefferson and placed 4th as a team scoring a 123.175. At Conference, the Whippet gymnasts competed their hearts out and had clean, polished and outstanding routines. Senior Sydney Treder had an outstanding Beam routine Placing 8th at Conference scoring an 8.325. Freshman Trinity Nickels also had a polished Beam routine placing 10th at Conference scoring an 8.225. Trinity also placed 11th in the All-Around scoring a season-high of 31.825 and 13th on the Uneven Bars scoring a 7.7. Senior Nicole Tomomitsu, who also had a successful Bar routine, tied for 14th scoring a 7.65. In the Junior Varsity Conference competition, Junior Hailey Prager placed 6th on the Uneven Bars scoring a 6.4. Sophomore Jenna Caldwell took 10th on the Balance Beam scoring 7.2. Overall, these athletes had a very successful Conference Tournament and the WHS Gymnastics Coaches and Parent- Athlete supporters couldn’t be prouder of their accomplishments.
