The Whippet track and field team found themselves in some great competition on Friday night as they travelled to Watertown for the Gosling Invitational. Facing some of the top Division I schools in the area, the young Whippets competed well and put up some great performances and personal bests. Highlighting the evening for Whitewater on the girls’ side was senior Sydney Schilt. In her first outdoor appearance of the season, Schilt went head-to-head with defending Division I State Champion, Kyenret Rinkam of Brookfield Central, and Janesville Parker’s Harper Brandenburg, in the 100 M Dash. Schilt did not disappoint as she finished third in 12.58, putting her number 4 all-time on the Whippet Top Ten list, .02 ahead of former teammate, Kindyl Kilar. Schilt came back later in the meet and won the 200 in a time of 26.47. The 4X100 M Relay, composed of Emy Islas, Schilt, Emma Maas, and Emery Kachel, finished 2nd to Middleton in a season-best time of 52.46 as Kachel raced home on the anchor leg. Mya Graves-Koran ran her fastest time of the season in the 100 M Hurdles, placing 7th in 18.66. Maddi Morton, competing for the first time this season in the pole vault, cleared the 7 foot barrier, and Virginia Nelson ran season bests in the 1600 and 3200, as did Delaney Hammack in the 800.
The Whippet boys also found their way to some great performances as Langdon Coburn continued to show why he is one of the area’s top pole vaulters, winning his specialty with a vault of 13 feet. Ty Bucholtz placed 3rd in the 110 M hurdles in a field that included some of DI’s best hurdlers. Bucholtz’s time of 15.48 placed him at number 9 all time on the Whippet Top Ten list. Freshman Cason Boudreau continued to impress with an 8th place finish in the 300 M hurdles running 45.17. The 4X800 M relay composed of Angel Kilar, Wyatt Esch, Carlos Aguilar, and Tyler Carollo rolled to a season best of 9:51. Vinnie Juette, Mateo Bazeley, Evan Leising, and Aaron Garcia ran a season best time of 1:36.29 in the 800 M Relay placing 6th. Freshman Bastian Portales ran 58.94 in his first ever 400 M race and Trevor Piper continued an upward trajectory in the discus, a new event for him.
The Whippets travel to Brodhead on Tuesday to take on Delavan, Jefferson, and Brodhead in a quadrangular.
The University of Wisconsin-Whitewater has announced a leadership change in the Warhawk gymnastics program. Jennifer Regan, head gymnastics coach and lecturer of kinesiology, will not be returning for the 2026-27 academic year.
“I’d like to thank Coach Regan for her oversight of the gymnastics program and contributions to UW-Whitewater,” said Ryan Callahan, assistant chancellor and director of athletics. “We wish her all the best in her future endeavors.”
Regan served as the head coach of the Warhawk gymnastics program for 24 seasons. During her tenure, UW-Whitewater secured 13 top three finishes in the National Collegiate Gymnastics Association (NCGA) Championship while Warhawk gymnasts earned more than 150 All-America honors.
Assistant coach Chloe Edgren, a UW-Whitewater alum and former Warhawk gymnast, will be the Interim Head Coach starting May 23. Edgren competed for the UW-Whitewater gymnastics team from 2014 to 2018. A two-time All-American, Edgren was a member of the 2014, 2017 and 2018 national championship teams. Edgren returned to UWW as an assistant coach in the fall of 2020.
“Chloe’s success as an All-American and member of three national championship teams as a student-athlete, coupled with her experience as an assistant coach, have prepared her well for this opportunity,” Callahan said. “We have full confidence in Chloe’s ability to lead the gymnastics program for the near future.”

Per the Leader-Telegram, the Brewers also announced 10 free over-the-air broadcasts during the season, including the opener, that will be aired on local television stations across the state. For our area the primary local station is WITI FOX6 from Milwaukee.
The dates for future over-the-air games are March 31 (6:40 p.m.), April 28 (6:40 p.m.), May 12 (6:40 p.m.), May 19 (6:40 p.m.), June 2 (6:40 p.m.), Aug. 4 (6:40 p.m.), Aug. 18 (6:40 p.m.), Aug. 25 (6:10 p.m.) and Sept. 8 (6:40 p.m.).
Updated 3/31/26 @ 4:45 p.m. with clarification that all season games will be on cable and also the dates when over-the-air broadcasts will be available.
The Milwaukee Brewers first home game is on Thursday, March 26 at 1:10 p.m. Jacob Misiorowski, age 23, is the starting pitcher vs. the Chicago White Sox. Olympic skater Jordan Stolz will throw out the ceremonial first pitch. The series continues on Saturday at 6:10 p.m. and on Sunday at 1:10 p.m. There had been speculation that we wouldn’t be able to watch the Brewers without paying for a $99/season MLB.TV subscription. Fortunately, it appears that at least most of the games will be accessible to non-subscribing fans.
FOX6 WITI Milwaukee will be carrying the game.
As per the following announcement, TDS will also be carrying the game on a separate channel. The Banner has not seen an announcement regarding Spectrum, but it is assumed that their viewers will be able to watch on FOX6.
