Mark Dorn reports, “In a down to the wire, final buzzer-beater, the Milwaukee Bucks prevailed. Whew! Whatta game to be at!”
Bucks now lead the Celtics 2-1. The next game, at home, is on Monday at 6:30 p.m.

The No. 39 ranked University of Wisconsin-Whitewater men’s tennis team secured its first ever New Jersey Athletic Conference championship Saturday with a 5-0 victory against The College of New Jersey at the Warhawk Outdoor Tennis Complex.
The Warhawks (21-2 overall) also clinch the league’s first-ever automatic bid to the NCAA Tournament, which begins next week.
UW-W, the NJAC West Division champion for the second straight year, won all three doubles matches to take a 3-0 advantage against the Lions (13-3).
Niclas Goltz and Ryan Mitchell earned the first team point with an 8-4 triumph at the third position. John Zakowski and Alex Gray were next on the board with an 8-4 victory at the first position.
Rory Calabria and Cole Lindwall made it 3-0 thanks to an 8-5 win at the second position.
Zakowski posted a 6-4, 6-0 triumph at No. 1 singles to increase the UW-W lead to four before Gray sent the match to decision with a 3-6, 6-1, 6-4 victory at No. 5 singles.
Two of the remaining four singles matches were in a third set.
UW-Whitewater will make its 13th appearance in the NCAA Tournament in the last 15 seasons. The team will find out its regional draw Monday via press release on NCAA.com.
On Thursday, May 5, the Whitewater Whippets traveled to East Troy to play the Trojans in girls’ soccer. The teams played a fast-paced game that ended 3-1 in favor of East Troy.
The Trojans’ goals were scored by Robyn Sonderegger (8′), Callie Nelson (10′), and Lauren Stroh. Trojan goalkeeper Becca Barber had two saves. The Whippets’ goal was scored off a corner kick by Caelyn Caputo (80′).
Marina Linos had eight saves in goal for Whitewater.

At the end of each season the Wisconsin Wrestling Coaches Association honors students for their academic excellence in the classroom. Whitewater is privileged to have seven wrestlers from the 2021-22 wrestling team achieve this honor.
Carter Friend received 2nd team honors, while Cooper Hammond, Mason DePorter, CJ Tomomitsu, Aaron Porras, Sebastian Cuellar, and Nathaniel Holden received Academic All-State Honorable Mention.
The criterion for this award is that the student-athletes must have a minimum of a 3.5 GPA on a 4.0 scale. They receive points based on multiplying their GPA by 100, point per varsity win, and points based on state placement or qualifier. There were 595 student-athletes nominated for this award who met the credentials. The top 20 in each grade level are 1st team and the next 20 are second team at each grade level.
Congratulations to these young student-athletes as this is a great accomplishment for them. They continue to make WWUSD proud.
