James Scott Carnes, 61, of Fort Atkinson passed away peacefully on Sunday, January 27, 2019.

Jim was born on May 8, 1957, in Fort Atkinson to Fay Ernest and Irene Josephine (Prust) Carnes. He spent his early life living and working on the local family dairy farm, and loved fishing and hunting since he was a young boy.

Jim married highschool sweetheart, Laura Hoffman in 1979 and together they had three loving children. August 18, 2019 marks 40 years of marriage together.

Neil Shuman, 97, peacefully passed away January 1st at Pacifica Assisted Living in Escondido California.

He enjoyed engaging in various activities such as singing, following the Packers and meeting new people. Neil attributed his longevity to clean living, exercise, and avoiding sweets.

Neil was born to Charles and Mehta Shuman literally at home on the farm and stayed close with many loving cousins.

Neil was a career military man, having proudly served in the Air Force at various locations around the US and Europe from 1945 to 1972

Audrey Chandler Elkins, 98 formerly of Burlington went home to be with the Lord on Friday, January 25, 2019 in Whitewater, Wisconsin.

She was born in Caswell county to the late Junious Beard and Mattie Glenn Boswell Chandler.

Audrey was a seamstress for many years. She was a longtime member of Grove Park Baptist church, member of the choir and handbell choir and the Ruth Sunday School class. She made the communion bread for many years and was a former nursery worker. She was a loving and devoted mother, grandmother and great grandmother.

Geraldine E. “Gerrie” Carney, 90, of Whitewater, WI, formerly of Mauston, WI passed away Wednesday, January 23, 2019 at the Fairhaven Senior Services, Whitewater.

Geraldine was born on May 13, 1928 in Mauston the daughter of Edward and Geraldine (Noonan) Moriarty.

Geraldine attended St. Therese Hospital, Waukegan, IL where she obtained her Registered Nursing degree graduating in 1949. She was united in marriage to Frederick “Jim” Carney on November 18, 1950, at St. Patrick’s Catholic Church, Mauston. They lived in Libertyville, IL and were devoted parents to nine children. Gerrie’s career as a Registered Nurse spanned 50 years. In retirement, she volunteered her time as a Hospice nurse. Gerrie’s life was dedicated to caring and serving others and guided by her strong faith.
