Jim was born on May 8, 1957, in Fort Atkinson to Fay Ernest and Irene Josephine (Prust) Carnes. He spent his early life living and working on the local family dairy farm, and loved fishing and hunting since he was a young boy.
Jim married highschool sweetheart, Laura Hoffman in 1979 and together they had three loving children. August 18, 2019 marks 40 years of marriage together.

She was born in Caswell county to the late Junious Beard and Mattie Glenn Boswell Chandler.
Audrey was a seamstress for many years. She was a longtime member of Grove Park Baptist church, member of the choir and handbell choir and the Ruth Sunday School class. She made the communion bread for many years and was a former nursery worker. She was a loving and devoted mother, grandmother and great grandmother.
Geraldine was born on May 13, 1928 in Mauston the daughter of Edward and Geraldine (Noonan) Moriarty.
Geraldine attended St. Therese Hospital, Waukegan, IL where she obtained her Registered Nursing degree graduating in 1949. She was united in marriage to Frederick “Jim” Carney on November 18, 1950, at St. Patrick’s Catholic Church, Mauston. They lived in Libertyville, IL and were devoted parents to nine children. Gerrie’s career as a Registered Nurse spanned 50 years. In retirement, she volunteered her time as a Hospice nurse. Gerrie’s life was dedicated to caring and serving others and guided by her strong faith.
