SUMMARY:Fairhaven Lecture - The Winds of Change: Airborne Propaganda in WW2 and the Early Cold War\, 1942-1956
DESCRIPTION:Modern airborne propaganda evolved dramatically in the course of World War II\, during which the Allied dropped over 8 billion pamphlets over Europe. In the early 1950s\, Radio Free Europe revived the practice and adapted it to the new Cold War milieu. Although this episode in the history of psychological warfare is idiosyncratic and brief\, its broader implications are significant for the conflicts in Ukraine and the Middle East today.  \nPresented by Karl Brown\, Associate Professor\, History as part of UW-Whitewater’s Fairhaven Lecture Series “Standing the Test of Time.” More information and full schedule: https://www.uww.edu/ce/fairhaven
